Mount Eddy Backpacking

Backpack through the Trinity National Forest and Connect with the land.

About this program

Join us for a trip leaving from the Headwaters property into the Trinity National Forrest! With beautiful alpine lakes, ridges and plant life. This trip is the greatest way to kick off the Summer season! A class that was previously provided to our apprentices and work interns is now open to the public! We will walk off the land and head up into the trinites where we will camp by a beautiful lake. There will be fishing and swimming along the way. We will then head out and head to the peak of Mount Eddy with a stunning view of the surrounding lands! We will then head down to a group of lakes called Deadfall lakes where we will spend a couple days enjoying the beauty!

Previous backpacking expereince is required: This trip is considered an intermediate course - we will be off trail backpacking on some rough terrain.
* There is a chance of snowy and rocky terrain*

What people are saying:

My first class at Headwaters was the Boys Rites of Passage, where I found that I had the potential to be a much better version of myself than I had been. Through Headwaters and Tim's classes, I started to find that I had real potential, in a gorgeous and nurturing environment where I was trusted with responsibilities and learned what it meant to be a care taker of nature. I think what really drove home the lessons of Headwaters to me was that after the Boys Rites of Passage I was invited to stay for the whole summer for the apprentice program, where I got to take part in every class that summer.
